ah, dachshund racing. not the least controversial thing you've posted. not to criticize, necessarily, but didn't know if you were aware.

i'm not aware - is there a seedy underbelly to dachshund racing?

well, depends who you ask. if someone is cool with greyhound racing, say, they'll be cool with dachshund races. or the other way around. it's bad for their backs, and people are afraid it's becoming a full-blown racing industry, which is worrisome, with the way racing greyhounds are treated, killed at a young age, etc.

point taken.

this particular race was pretty amateur, and i don't think it posed any immediate problem than freaking out a couple of nervous dogs.

but pro dachshund racing doesn't sound like such a good idea.

right, but it's sort of a when do you stop the rolling snowball question. or, does promoting a harmless version of one thing indirectly promote the harmful version as well? or, what this guy says: http://www.thedachshundnetwork.com/doxrace.htm anyhow, we can probably drop this now. btw, prolly doing my 30th up here dec 1.
