the adventures of lenny the liger and zenny the zoniey (part 3)

along the other side lenny had also another idea he was going to run away in to of course the 'black forest.' when he marched off the other lions were laughing hystercilly at the ligers plan. one said "we will have a grave ready for you when you back." "you never survive," said another. lenny then broke into a run wanting to get away as soon a possible.

when lenny was in the forest he soon became scared and decided to sleep the night under a banana and coconut tree. when he awoke a bright colorful bird with rainbow colors stared at nodding his head. lenny wasn't frightened by the bird more surprised. he quickly leaped up and started walking away but the bird was following him. "what do you want" lenny said in a confidant way "ow nothing" said the bird "just that i was thinking that you might want to know where your heading." "what to mean" said lenny. "your heading to the momma bears cave go to the right that path follows through gently" "um, thanks i was just leaving i kinda made a mistake" "how so " said the bird. as lenny explained every detail and every point. the bird was listing. lenny had never done this before open up because he hadn't had any friend.

the bird finally said "you know what i think you should take the left path instead you'll find somebutty like you has the same promble" lenny didn't question just strolled away but turned back at a sudden. by the way i catch your name, the bird just looked at him happily and said "just call me pepoi" and the bird flew off into the distance.

so this is actually going to be a four part series. stay tuned...

the adventures of lenny the liger and zenny the zoniey (part 2)

as zenny approached the black forest mountains he read all the sings "turn back NOW" "your for shure dead beyond this point." but this didn't stop zenny he crept into the scarry just as they said black forest and stood his guard "ow no what if there's lions or bears" "ow no!" it had rained earlier that night so there was a pond on the floor nexeted to zenny's hoof.

he stared down and saw his reflection and sighed"i'll never be beautiful" just then a voice came out of the air "your not that bad"zenny jumped to his feet when he saw a tropical blue and red fish stick his head out of the small little pond "people used to pick on me because i was red they called my balloon and cherry fish all these thing but you what i learned to expect myself for who i am andn ot care what others thought of me but what i thought expleccly inside" "and that's when you'll start making friends."

zenny was surprised to see how smart a fish could be...he was astonished speechless. "thanks" "no promble"said the fish "by the way my name's dilio" and he swam back to the far corner of the pond to have a morning snack. with what dilio said zenny now had courage and brought himself to his feet and marched forward.

so i found this on the sidewalk today...

out of laziness and love of series, i am going to post it in three parts. i will make every effort effort to include the original spelling.

the adventures of larry the liger and zenny the zoniey (part I)

one lumeneceint but foggy day laid larry the liger (half lion half tiger). he was sleeping in the midsummer day on a patch of grass that was dead with no life and no water once so ever. of course no other lion wanted this spot. you could only find a reject laying in that spot, and that was what larry was...a reject.

larry looked up at the sky with hope and sighed "please god, if it wasn't too much to ask i like some friends." after he finished sighing to the sky he thought everything would be ok but to his surprise it wasn't. "hey halfbreed, house pet" yelled on dafishing lion and one in the back roared "go on scram get out of here." while showing his teeth. larry had no hestion he did what the dafing lion told him to do...scram and he ran out getting out their way.

on the other side of the mountain there was a big pack of zebras but one of course was not full zebra...he was a zoniey (half zebra and half pony) and his name was zenny. zenny was much like lenny he was a reject and also an outcast. but one day zenny got out of the humiliation pack and headed towards the mountains where he hoped he would meet some friends finally.

you make me want to move to san francisco. all of you.

so after hours of barbecuing and catching up and champagne toasts and getting bitten by mosquitoes and slowly wrinkling in the jacuzzi i finally made my way into the pool. it was cool and calm and so big in comparison. when i went underwater i felt completely alone, in the best of all possible ways. and for the longest time i just floated on my back, completely without effort, and stared at the stars. i had forgotten.

me?

i've heard from several people recently (generally of the male persuasion) that they've found me intimidating.

which is bizarre, because i believe myself to be about as intimidating as a puppy. no, really. i wag my tail a lot and can find something to like in just about everybody. if anything, i get quiet and aloof sometimes because i'm nervous around other people.

i know that something about this intimidation thing is good, but i can't quite put my finger on it. i really do prefer to make people as comfortable as possible.

tales from the dentist pt. 2

my dentist continues to simultaneously fascinate and creep me out. the other day she gave me the name and number of her bikini waxer. i didn't ask for it or anything. just because.

and now she tells me that she frequently matchmakes for her patients. she offered to set me up with a "good provider".

she's a really great dentist, though. i swear.

oh god

i just had one of those moments. one of those cringey, lower-lip-biting moments. i went in for orientation at my new internship today, and one of my coworkers mentioned that he had looked me up on friendster. he liked my photographs.

great, whatever.

but then i came home and looked at my profile, which describes me as "unsure and excited and tentative and weirdly passionate and off key." that description may be apt, but it's not exactly how i want to be introduced to a new office.

i may need to reevaluate just how much of myself i should be revealing on the internet.

my dentist is craaaaazy

at first i just thought quirky, but then she launched into this whole dental hygiene analogy in which the bacteria in my mouth are like the taleban in afghanistan, and the cavities are like caves and my toothbrush and floss are ground troops and i guess that makes me george w. bush or something.

what?

i wish i could show you

how cool this is. from here it's just a 2 dimensional snapshot, but on my computer you can walk around in it. you can fly above it. you can touch the trees and look up from underneath the ground. you can move things - whole buildings, blocks. you can add parks and developments without worrying about finances or political support. you can do whatever you want, and no one rains on your parade. ever.

inventing the next los angeles

The next twenty years will be critical for the City of Los Angeles. Projections say our population will expand by the equivalent of two Chicagos, and our housing stock is already bursting at the seams. Transformation is inevitable; just how it will happen is unknown. PropX seeks elegant, if radical, proposals to rework policy and design that could change the face of Los Angeles.
my team has just been selected to compete in the propX workshop! we are architects, planners and developers. they've given us a bunch of money and access to high-level advisors. now we've got three months to solve LA's housing crisis.

game on.

r.i.p.

mittens jumped.

sunset from the top of a parking garage

taken with a camera phone. does it get any more LA than this?

i dreamt that i was flying

i felt like i encompassed everything. fast and joyous and maybe a little out of control. but there in the back of my head was this little nagging fear - how was i going to land? i had never flown before. but when it finally came time, my feet touched down like feathers.

i awoke exhilarated and stayed that way for days.

the cakes ride again

bowling season may be over, but today marked the The Great Los Angeles Scavenger Hunt of 2006. 60+ items and locations. 6 hours. 4 women. 1 car. there was craziness, tension, nudity and whipped cream. there was a very elusive dreidel. we broke every traffic law in los angeles at least twice. we talked to strangers and ran from security guards. we made it from santa monica to west hollywood in under 30 minutes (including parking) at 6:00pm on a saturday. my little car grew wings.

we made it with two minutes to spare.

and we came in a very respectable fourth place.

next year we're going all the way, ladies.

i just started a new book

and i've not read a synopsis or any reviews or even the back cover. i have no idea what it's about. i think this is the best way. i wish i read more books without prior knowledge.

it's really good so far.

chronology

i don't remember ever not liking simon and garfunkel. i have no idea when i was first introduced to them. i think it was a tape my parents had in their car, the one i begged them to play over and over again as a child. but i danced to them in high school, obsessed about paul in college, and rediscovered their dreamy twists and turns in my new york days. i had a hard time deciding where to put them in this chronology.

but this i know: it started early, and has always been with me.
